Family Tree

Saturday, December 27, 2008

There's always a Christmas Party for my family to go to on Christmas day. I think I'm getting too old for them because I never know where I fit in. Do I talk to the adults or do I play with the kids? It usually ends up being the latter. I guess Christmas gives good excuse to be a kid all over again even though I am the tallest in the family.

Why do the kids look so happy while the adults are struggling to smile?

Football on a Cloudy Day

Tuesday, December 23, 2008

I love natural lighting. It was very much cloudy today so the pictures turned out interestingly.

A few of my (younger) friends played football with their highschool friends today and I went as moral support/nurse/mother. I really enjoyed being out there and taking care of them, though they might've gotten sick of my babying them. And even if I wasn't in the game I liked being there.

And I learned something today from this: in order for any relationship to survive there must be initiative on both sides. I'm still thinking this one through, but that's pretty much the gist of it.

A Tree in the Sanctuary

Sunday, December 21, 2008

This is the Christmas tree displayed in our church's main sanctuary. We had our annual Christmas praise night tonight where pre-school, elementary kids, and the youth group put on presentations. It was rather interesting, cute, and humorous. I'll always have a heart for these kids.

Caterpillar Roll

A few friends and I went to this crazy sushi place called Wassabi. If you ever want to eat Japanese food in a dimly lit, music blasting, loud atmosphere, and chef yelling restaurant...it's the place to be. We were very confused about the place: there was a polaroid of Yoda on the wall and a bible verse printed on their menu along with scantily clad females. We were very confused.

Red vs Yellow

Thursday, December 18, 2008

I love coming home to Fresno for Thanksgiving because the trees are so beautiful at that time. There's a bunch of these vibrant red trees that line the drive towards my house and I LOVE driving that route. It's so awesome every time I drive past them. I just can't help but praise God for something that beautiful.

My friend likes to think the color of the trees in December are better. They are now this yellow-y color. I think they're still pretty, but I prefer the fiery trees.

What do you guys think?

Hail in Hand

Tuesday, December 16, 2008

It hailed the other day and that is something special for Fresno, who hasn't seen snow in ten years or so. It hardly snows here in the central valley though temperatures reach 30 degrees. Meteorologists say it will snow tomorrow. I hope they aren't lying.

p.s. who's nasty weathered hand is that? gross... :p

Ice at Santa Monica

Monday, December 15, 2008

Sorry I missed a few days. I'm settling back in Fresno for the break and it's been fun. This was taken a few days back when a bunch of us when ice skating at the relatively new rink near the Promenade. I fail at panning.

Headless Shadows

Wednesday, December 10, 2008

There's this obscure place near North Campus Student Center with headless statues. It's weird, really. But from time to time I like to sit and think there because there's hardly ever anyone there and all you hear is murmurs and footsteps.

Three Two One

i see this image often while walking to work and class, but i never noticed the geometry of it. i do like the anderson school of business for its red bricks and weird curves. yay for business majors.

Boys in Our Room

Monday, December 8, 2008

I came home from work today and this is what I find. I really do enjoy our room being one of the places that people flock to, it's just...naked? Really?? (Don't worry--no one was actually naked when I came home. Unless the boys were really fast at putting their clothes on.)
